Green Hiking Etiquette Campaign

Join us and promote in Green Hiking Etiquette Campaign!

*Green Hiking Etiquette Campaign is organised in collaboration with Environmental Protection Department (EPD). We aim to promote “The Leave No Trace Seven Principle” and educate the public to protect the nature.

The Leave No Trace Seven Principles

1.	Plan ahead and prepare
  •	Bring enough water and food
  •	Know your route and avoid extreme weather

2.	Concentrate use on existing trails and campsites
  •	Do not create your own trails, focus activity in areas where vegetation is absent

3.	Do not litter
  •	Treasure resources. Reduce waste and take your litter home
  •	Bring your own bottles, cutlery and handkerchiefs to reduce the consumption of single-use disposable items

4.	Minimize the impacts of fire
  •	Treasure trees. Do not light fire except at the barbecue sites and campsites
  •	Do not smoke, reduce wildfire

5.	Leave what you find
  •	Treasure natural features. No graffiti. No vandalism
  •	Treasure countryside. Respect villagers’ private properties, crops and livestock

6.	Respect Wildlife
  •	Never feed animals, lest natural behaviors should be altered
  •	Do not hurt or approach them, observe wildlife from a distance

7.	Be considerate of other visitors
  •	Be courteous. Yield to other users on the trail
  •	Let nature’s sounds prevail. Avoid loud voices and noises
