Green Sense Charity Hike 2017 finished successfully at 19th March under the rainy weather. More than 300 participants and volunteers joined this activity. Thanks to the full support of everyone of you, the event was able to successfully completed.

We would like to express our gratitude to every company teams, individual participants and all the volunteers who stayed at their position under the rain till last minute. The event could conclude successfully all because of your participation and co-operation.

We hope everyone enjoyed this journey and gained the green messages at the check points. We also hope that everyone acts green from now on to protect our precious nature. Green Sense will continue to point out the non-environmental friendly practice in society through research and monitoring, in order to enhance the environmental consciousness by education and publicity.

This year, we select the adventure route to “Devil’s Peak”, in Lei Yue Mun, Kowloon. It is part of the popular “Wilson Trail” Section 3.  The full view of Clearwater Bay Peninsula and Victoria Harbour comes into sight after reaching the hilltop. The battery and redoubt are perfectly matched with the spectacular vision. Check points with information of the route and nearby environment may give you more insights into our hometown.

By sharing the information about the natural habitat and the impacts of urban development towards natural environment, we hope participants to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the countryside and spend a weekend joyfully, while comprehending the unique environment of Hong Kong. After realising the importance of green living individually, household, and in the community, we may together treasure and protect our natural resources for the sake of the future generation, both locally and globally.

Rundown:

09:30-09:45 Assembly at Lam Tin Park (Near Tak Lai House, Tak Tin Estate,
10-15 mins walk from Lam Tin MTR Station Exit A)
09:45 Start of Kick-off Ceremony
10:00-13:30 Charity Hike with check points along the route

Participants may leave or continue other trails after reaching End Point at the Shelter near the Wilson Trail Section 3 View Compass (10 mins walk to Lei Yue Mun Hoi Pong Road)

Route

Lam Tin Park > Cheung Lung Tin > O King Road (Reverse Wilson Trail Section 3) > Chiu Keng Wan Shan > Gouph Battery > Devil’s Peak > Shelter near Wilson Trail Section 3 View Compass (About 6.5km, can be completed in 3 hrs)

*This route is for rookies and family, suggesting aged 6 or above
($100,000 Group Personal Insurance included)

The minimum donation is $400 for individual participant ($300 for aged under 18).
