Participants would enjoy the beautiful scenery in the countryside and spend an energetic weekend, while practicing “Green Hiking Etiquettes” and comprehending the unique environment in Hong Kong. To introduce “Leave No Trace” and other green hiking tips, participants may learn more about how and why to protect our for the sake of the future generation, both locally and globally.

Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail is selected in the Charity Hike this year. It is not only an adventurous hiking trail but also an old trading route linking two settlements (Yuen Long & Tsuen Wan).  The journey is full of natural sceneries and historical features. Following the route with online supporting materials, participants would wander up and down along nature trail from Chai Wan Kok to Yuen Long. The hilltop Lookout at Shek Lung Kung will be soon approached. With 180 degree view of Hong Kong Island, Tsing Yi and Lantau, an unobstructed view of Tsing Ma Bridge and Victoria Harbour is unforgettable.

Due to the public gathering limit, we could not take part in the launching ceremony with hundreds of participants as in the previous years. Therefore the event period extends to 17 days, from 26 March to 11 April 2021.

Green Sense’s Charity Hike 2019 is our annual charitable fundraising event, aiming to enhance the nature conservation awareness of the public, as well as raise funds for Green Sense’s environmental protection work. Green Sense’s Charity Hike 2019 will take place at Lo Fu Tau (Tiger’s Head) Trail in North Lantau Country Park. Let’s come and join us in“Crouching Tiger Gazing Lantau”!
Starting at Discovery Bay, we will then climb up to Lo Fu Tau Hilltop Lookout gazing 360 degree view of Lantau. Participants can even view the heatedly discussed “Lantau Tomorrow Vision” proposed reclamation area, Hong Kong International Airport and Victoria Harbour there. The unobstructed view will be unforgettable.
Moreover, rock erosion features such as “Sword Testing Stone”, “Strange Duck Stone”, “Peach Stone” can be found along the route, the unique stone group will amaze the hikers. Our Green Sense trained volunteers will introduce the ecology of Hong Kong and city planning issues on the event day.

We will integrate green practice “Take Your Litter Home” in this event and encourage participants to adopt a green living style in their daily life. We wish to inspire the public to protect our natural environment for the sake of the future generation.

Charity Hike 2018 is Green Sense’s annual charity fundraising event, aiming to enhance the nature conservation awareness of the public, as well as raise funds for Green Sense’s environmental protection work. The Charity Hike this year will commence from Hok Tau in Pat Sin Leng Country Park to Tai Po.

Green Sense Charity Hike 2018 is an annual outdoor activity for the public. Following the Kick-off Ceremony at Hok Tau Barbecue Area, we approach Hok Tau Reservoir, which offers out-of-the-world scenery with its shimmering reflections of sunlight and dancing shades of green. There we take a flight of steps bringing us to the Wilson Trail, and climb the hill under the company of tree shades and bird songs. After a brief rest at the hilltop, we resume along Wilson Trail towards Cloudy Hill, the highest point of the day’s journey. Surrounded by plains, Cloudy Hill amazes one with a wide and unobstructed view: To the Southeast, the blue glimmering Plover Cove; to the Northeast, the awe-inspiring mountain range of Pat Sin Leng; to the Southwest, the plains of Tai Wo with toy-like villages and passing trains. The journey approaches its end as we descend the steps towards Fu Heng Estate, Tai Po. There, along with souvenirs and certificates from volunteers, we bring back with us memories of a fascinating day.

Route: Pat Sin Leng Country Park－Hok Tau Barbecue Area → Hok Tau Reservoir → Wilson Trail #8 (Reverse) → Cloudy Hill → Tai Po Tau (8km finished in 3 hours)

The minimum donation for company/ organization/ school team is HK$2000 (2-4 persons, for each extra participant, the minimum donation is $400). Team certificate will be issued for appreciation on the event day.

Green Sense Charity Hike 2017 finished successfully at 19th March under the rainy weather. More than 300 participants and volunteers joined this activity. Thanks to the full support of everyone of you, the event was able to successfully completed.
